Duke Kahanamoku shaking hands

Duke Kahanamoku united people, taught them the love of the ocean, celebrated healthy competition, and brought inspiration to all. We have made it our work to raise up his iconic example for our community to strive for the ideals he embodied as our Ambassador of Aloha. Please join us in our mission by making a donation to support young scholar-athletes and invigorate the waterman spirit across the Hawaiian islands.

Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization. Your donation is tax-deductible.

Become a Corporate Sponsor

Corporate sponsors are essential to the accomplishment of our mission. Your employees and customers will recognize your association with the aloha spirit of Duke Kahanamoku, focused on supporting youth scholarship and the development of ocean athletes in our island community.

Planned Giving

You can help carry on the legacy of aloha by including us in your will, trust, retirement plan or life insurance policy. If you have already named the Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Foundation as a beneficiary of your will, trust, life insurance, retirement plan or another account, please let us know. Talk to your attorney, insurance rep, or financial planner for more information.

Event Sponsorship

Corporate sponsorship of ODKF events such as Hawaii Waterman Hall of Fame and Duke’s Night provides direct charitable support. Benefits associated with sponsoring events vary from event to event. Our staff would be happy to provide a sponsorship proposal for a specific event. Please email us at

IRA Charitable Rollover

In 2015, the IRA Charitable Rollover was signed into permanent law by the President, allowing taxpayers age 70 ½ or older to transfer up to $100,000 annually from their IRA accounts directly to a qualified charitable organization without first having to recognize the distribution as income. Talk to your financial planner about making a rollover to ODKF.
