Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD) & Required Minimum Distributions (RMD)
A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) is a transfer of funds directly from your IRA (other than a SEP or SIMPLE IRA) to a qualified charity, such as the Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Foundation. Because the gift goes directly to a nonprofit and never passes through your hands, it may be excluded from your taxable income, with some exceptions.
If you're 70½ or older, a QCD can also satisfy some or all of your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) for the year.
How to give: Contact your IRA custodian and ask them to send a check directly to:
Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Foundation
P.O. Box 160924
Honolulu, HI 96816
Federal Tax ID: 99-0217299
Please let us know when you've made your gift so we can watch for it and properly thank you.
Talk to your financial advisor or tax advisor to see if a QCD is right for you, and visit IRS.gov to learn more.

Corporate sponsors are essential to the accomplishment of our mission. Your employees and customers will recognize your association with the aloha spirit of Duke Kahanamoku, focused on supporting youth scholarship and the development of ocean athletes in our island community.
Corporate sponsorship of ODKF events such as Hawaii Waterman Hall of Fame, Duke Kahanamoku OceanFest, and Duke’s Night provides direct charitable support. Benefits associated with sponsorships vary by event. Our staff would be happy to provide a sponsorship proposal for a specific event. Please email us at info@dukefoundation.org.
Gifts of donated business services or excess merchandise help keep our costs lower, while providing excellent visibility for local company recognition. Please contact us at info@dukefoundation.org for more information.
