Linda Kaisers accomplishments in open water channel swimming epitomize the strength and perseverance that all Hall of Members possess. Linda was a true warrior and pioneer who broke barriers for both men and women all with a smile on her face. Encountering many sharks on her swims, Linda always pushed through to accomplish her goal of swimming all of the channels. She was the first person to swim the Kaulakahi Channel (Kauai to Niihau) and the Kealaikahiki Channel (Kahoolawe to Lanai), and the first woman to swim the Pailolo Channel (Maui to Molokai) and the Alalakeiki Channel (Maui to Kahoolawe). She completed over 50 marathons, 10 ultra-marathons and the Ironman World Championship. She paddled on the first women's team to cross the Molokai Channel in a two-man canoe. She was a founder of the Kaiwi Channel Swimmers Association and a 25-year key volunteer for the Wiakiki Roughwater Swim. After a long battle with cancer, she passed away in 2018.
